Hi, I'm John, and for over 25 years, I've been on a mission to make learning English more enjoyable, practical, and effective.
I'm a native British teacher from the south of England, CELTA-qualified, with a degree in English and Related Literature. I've worked as an official Cambridge examiner, so I understand what examiners look for - and how to help you meet those expectations.
Over the years, I've gained a wealth of teaching experience across a range of settings - from private schools and state schools to universities, businesses, and private individuals, both in the UK and internationally. This diverse experience has given me a deep understanding of how to adapt to different learning styles, levels, and goals, so that every learner can thrive.
I firmly believe that learning English should be enjoyable. It isn't just something you study from dusty grammar books. It's a living, breathing language - for chatting, laughing, singing, working, travelling, and connecting with people.
I also run John's English Page, where I share daily content with a combined audience of over 600 000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube!
On a personal note, I'm fluent in Italian and speak a little Russian, so l understand what it's like to learn a new language - the frustrations, the breakthroughs, and the sense of achievement.
